Company Formed

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company was originally formed in Arkansas as Lift Truck Sales & Service Corporation. The company was a distributor for Clark Equipment Co., a manufacturer of industrial forklifts

1960
Company Name Changed
Clark Lift Name Unveiling news clipping

The company changed its name to Clarklift of Arkansas.

1970
Purchased by Charles Hugg
Purchased by Charles Hugg

Charles Hugg purchased the company in 1970. Clarklift of Arkansas started operating from Little Rock and Fort Smith. At the time, the company had 22 employees.

1990
John Hugg & Robert Hall

In July, John Hugg and Robert Hall purchased Clarklift of Arkansas.

1995
Hugg & Hall Equipment Co

In May, Clarklift acquired the stock of Hugg Equipment Company and began doing business as Hugg & Hall Equipment Company.

2011
Arkla Taylor

Hugg & Hall purchased Arkla Taylor, a dealer for Taylor Machine Works in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

2012
Westquip

Hugg & Hall purchased Westquip, a dealer for Toyota Material Handling in central Oklahoma.
This acquisition made Hugg & Hall one of the leading construction and industrial equipment providers in Arkansas and Oklahoma. We distribute Toyota, Taylor, Crown, Bobcat, Doosan, Genie, JLG, Tennant, Columbia, and more.

2016
RPM Services and Rental
RPM Services and Rental

Hugg & Hall acquired RPM Services and Rental. RPM’s headquarters were in Houma, LA, with 2 other locations in Broussard and Baton Rouge. The majority of its revenue was derived from the region’s onshore commercial and construction markets; other revenue was directly related to the offshore oil & gas industry that includes skid-mounted air compressors and tools for painting, blasting, coating, and other maintenance functions.

With this purchase Hugg & Hall grew to 13 locations across Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

2019
Scott Equipment Trade
Scott Equipment Trade

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company and Scott Equipment Company, LLC entered into a unique strategic agreement to trade Volvo and Toyota manufacturer territories in Louisiana and Arkansas in order to better align product offerings with each company’s business model and target markets. The agreement was designed to expand the companies’ core operations, streamline manufacturer-dealer engagements, and increase value to the companies’ clients through enhanced focus on primary business lines.

2022
Southern Material Handling Company

Hugg & Hall acquired Southern Material Handling Company of eastern Oklahoma. The purchase allowed Hugg & Hall to expand its Toyota presence throughout the state of Oklahoma.
