Employee Spotlight: Keith Morton, Heavy Field Service Technician

Meet Keith, Texarkana Service Tech!

Keith Morton, Texarkana Heavy Service Tech

When manufacturers and industrial facilities depend on their equipment to keep operations moving, experienced technicians are an essential part of their productivity. At Hugg & Hall Equipment Company, Heavy Field Service Technician Keith Morton helps customers do exactly that.

Keith has been part of the Hugg & Hall team for 13 years, serving as a Heavy Field Service Technician and Resident Technician. Working on-site at an Amrize facility in Prescott, he is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse fleet of material handling and industrial equipment.

On any given day, Keith services equipment such as Toyota forklifts, Kalmar yard trucks, Combilift forklifts, Tennant floor scrubbers and sweepers, Sullivan diesel air compressors, Club Car maintenance carts, and specialized machines designed specifically for the customer’s operation. In addition to diagnosing mechanical issues and performing preventive maintenance, Keith manages the on-site parts inventory and works closely with plant managers and supervisors to coordinate equipment repairs, maintenance schedules, and fleet needs. His technical expertise helps ensure equipment is available when production depends on it.

Every day is different for Keith. “The challenge of diagnosing and repairing a fleet of 65 to 70 pieces of equipment while providing the best customer service possible” is what Keith loves most, he says.

Supporting a Major Fleet Transition

One of Keith’s most significant accomplishments was helping lead Amrize through the transition to 55 new Toyota forklifts, replacing an aging mixed fleet.

Working alongside Hugg & Hall and Atlas Toyota, Keith evaluated the customer’s operation, helped develop the ideal equipment specifications, coordinated the fleet transition, ensured the new forklifts were integrated with existing software and attachments, and kept the customer’s current equipment operating throughout the project—all while avoiding disruptions to plant production.

The success of the project earned praise from both the customer and Hugg & Hall’s manufacturing partner.

What the Customer Had to Say

Mark Nettles, MRO Manager from Amrize shared his appreciation for Keith’s dedication and leadership throughout the project:

“Much of this success is due to the dedication of one of your employees, Keith Morton. Keith has been the primary anchor for both companies, providing essential technical knowledge, recommendations, and equipment reliability.”

“Keith is an exceptional asset to both our organizations. Thank you to Hugg & Hall, Toyota, and specifically to Keith for finally accomplishing this.”

Recognition from Atlas Toyota

Gene Haake, National Account Manager from Atlas Toyota also recognized Keith’s exceptional contribution, noting that successful equipment partnerships are built on trust between the dealership and the customer.

“Rarely have I come across a technician/client relationship like that which is in place between the Amrize location in Prescott, Arkansas, and Keith Morton with Hugg & Hall Equipment.”

Gene also praised Keith’s leadership throughout the forklift replacement project.

“Keith demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, customer focus, and a level of ownership that goes well beyond what is typically expected from a field technician.”

Life Outside of Work

When he’s not keeping customers’ equipment running, Keith enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping. His passion for the outdoors reflects the same patience, preparation, and dedication he brings to his work every day.

Thank You, Keith!

Keith’s commitment to customer service, technical expertise, and problem-solving reflects the values that have made Hugg & Hall Equipment Company a trusted provider of forklift service, heavy equipment maintenance, field service, and material handling solutions sine 1956.
