Employee Spotlight: Marquis Gaston

Meet Marquis Gaston, Parts Specialist in El Dorado, AR!

Marquis has been with Hugg & Hall for almost 3 years. He hails from Smackover, AR, “the original boomtown.”

As a Parts Specialist, Marquis spends a majority of his time and expertise assisting customers and other departments.

He works hand-in-hand with the service technicians, rental department, and warehouse personnel to ensure they can help their customers. “I strive to help our customers get what they need, as well as direct them to the right place if we can’t help with their needs.”

Marquis’s knowledge and skillset extend far beyond his parts knowledge. He served in the US Army as an 88m Motor Transport Officer and loves learning new things that he feels he can use later in life. We’re very proud of Marquis for earning his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science in August!

Marquis enjoys the strong community at the El Dorado branch. His favorite memory at Hugg & Hall is an early-morning fishing trip with a few of his coworkers.

“My favorite thing about working for Hugg & Hall is they’re big in blessing people and their employees when they’re going through hard times. Last year, we donated a bunch of goods to my cousin, who is a Master Sergeant stationed oversees. I wasn’t expecting many to help, but we came together as one.”

If you’ve been following Hugg & Hall’s social media the last few years, you might recognize Marquis from our annual Halloween costume contest! Marquis has won the El Dorado branch’s contest for the last two years.

Outside of work, Marquis is a family man who keeps busy with his hobbies and commitments. He loves spending time with his daughters, and he enjoys training his South African mastiff to help keep his family and home safe.

“I love to spend every Saturday morning fishing, to get away from the world’s problems. I love playing Call of Duty when I get the chance.”

Marquis is also a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha, the oldest intercollegiate African American fraternity.

We love to hear our employees’ favorite quotes. Marquis’s is from the poem “Invictus” by William Ernest Henley: “I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.”
