Employee Spotlight: Dusty Newell

Let us introduce you to one of our Utility Services Field Technicians, Dusty Newell!

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Rogers, AR and moved just down the road to Bentonville, AR.

Where did you go to school/college?

I graduated from Bentonville High School then attended Northwest Technical Institute.

How long have you been with Hugg & Hall?

I started with Hugg & Hall in February of this year.

What does a day in the life of a Field Technician look like?

In a typical day my workload varies between utility services equipment and any help our rental department needs. I spend a lot of my time problem solving and finding the best course of action to take

The best part, or your favorite thing, about working for Hugg & Hall?

There is a very wide range of work here, I enjoy coming into a different situation everyday, and the very generous group of coworkers I have. (Swell group of old guys)

Do you have a favorite memory of your time here at Hugg & Hall?

The time Chris T laughed so hard his drink came out of his nose.

What do you like to do in your free time?

When I’m not working I enjoy going to the gym and playing golf.

What is an interesting or random fact about you people may not know?

I have all ten fingers and toes.

Tell us your favorite quote and what it means to you.

“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.” – don’t be  scared of attempting something because you’re worried of failure, be confident. I think of this quote every time I Ether an engine, the thought of it running like a scalded cat gets me going. I don’t think about the potential of locking the engine up or throwing a rod. 😊

4 Ways Utility Services Can Help You This Summer

We are officially in the peak of the summer months; it’s hot, sticky, and some of us are in the midst of hurricane season. But, none of these challenges are to big or to small for Hugg & Hall’s Utility Services division to handle.  The Utility Services division rents and sells portable power, power distribution, compressed air, and supplemental HVAC units.

Portable Power

From natural disasters, to night work, to power outages or planned shutdowns we can provide the right generator to fit your needs. Portable and towable generators with gasoline or diesel options are available as well as light towers with generators to keep your operations moving forward. We also provide cabling and various distribution boxes and panels.

Climate Control

To make your next event or jobsite more comfortable, you may need additional air conditioning. Our wide range of rental units are designed to produce minimal noise and a compact footprint. Paired with our fleet of dehumidifiers and industrial fans, our climate control solutions can prevent condensation to keep materials dry and promote drying in flooded areas. We’ve got you covered during those harsh winter months as well with our readily available fleet of heaters.

Air Compressors

Utility Services has the leading fleet of air compressors in the rental business. With the best air compressors in the business, these tools are ideal on most jobsites and highly sought after in a wide range of industries. Towable or portable compressors pair perfect with air tools such as pavement breakers and chipping hammers on any construction, industrial, or demo job. We also offer instrument quality, filtered and cooled air compressors for specialized applications.

Offshore Equipment

Take Hugg & Hall equipment on any offshore jobsite. All equipment undergoes an enhancement process to ensure long lasting, offshore proven, durability. The fleet includes light towers, welders, air compressors, pipe threaders, and pumps. Key components are coated to prevent corrosion and equipped with Coast Guard approved fuel lines, skid mounts have up-to-date certifications and are installed with static grounds and extra grounding in engine driven equipment, all welding machines are load bank tested, engine driven units are equipped with overspeed and rig air shutdown devices, and air compressors and volume tanks have up-to-date safety relief valve certifications.
