Employee Spotlight: Taylor Service Tech Wes Clark

Employee Spotlight: Taylor Service Tech Wes Clark

Say hello to Technician Wes Clark, specialist in Taylor service!

Wes was born and raised in El Dorado and has worked in the area since around 2000, honing his service skills with Taylor Machine Works equipment and other large equipment. He started as a machinist with Farris Machine Works for six years before hiring on with ArklaTaylor Forklifts in 2005.

Wes has been with Hugg & Hall since May of 2011, when Hugg & Hall acquired ArklaTaylor. In 2025, he celebrated a combined 20 years of service with us and an acquired company!

What a Taylor service shift looks like for Wes

Did you know that Hugg & Hall’s El Dorado location hosts our Taylor Rebuild program? The El Dorado area is home to a high concentration of Taylor Forklifts, meaning Wes’s skills are in high demand. He still puts his machinist skills to use regularly! Of his job, Wes said,

“Most days at Hugg & Hall you can find me working on a Taylor. I’m usually involved with the rebuild process, welding and/or machining something worn, broken, or making a part that is obsolete or too far out on lead time. I especially like that part of my job.”

If making fully-functioning Taylor equipment parts from scrap metal weren’t impressive enough, Wes is a team player and dedicates his time and knowledge to helping other techs succeed. He’s modest about that, saying, “I also help others when I can with technical questions or information.”

But Wes’s can-do attitude, willingness to help other techs out, and focus on the customer has earned him the recognition of Shop Manager Justin Gill, who recommended Wes be spotlighted.

Justin said, “Wes’s machining abilities have helped our customers out of a tight spot several times when there were no other options! Customers’ needs always come first for Wes, and perfection is his goal.”

Outside of work

After clocking out, Wes can be found spending time with his wife and daughter. Wes and his wife have been married for 23 years! He and his family enjoy spending time together outdoors, especially when they can go on a hike and explore new places together.

Wes’s mechanical skills extend beyond the Taylor Machine Works world. One of his hobbies includes collecting and restoring antique engines and machine tools. In his collection now? Antiques such as lathes, drill presses, and milling machines!

We’re incredibly grateful for employees like Wes, who keep Hugg & Hall moving with their incredible skillsets and superb work ethic!
