Hugg & Hall Equipment Company Recognized as “Tyson Foods’ 2017 Location Services, Supplier of the Year”

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is honored to have been named a “Supplier of the Year” by Tyson Foods, Inc., for the second time. An awards presentation was hosted on April 12 at the Tyson Headquarters in Springdale, Ark. At the ceremony, the Hugg & Hall team was formally awarded the recognition of “Tyson Foods’ 2017 Location Services, Supplier of the Year.”

“What I remember as our philosophy regarding our relationship with Tyson, in the beginning, is that they were truly looking for a partner rather than just a supplier,” said Rick Vollmer, Vice President of Rental Operations at Hugg & Hall. “I feel like that has been the approach we have always taken, specifically with Tyson, because they were clear in communicating what they were looking for. So, I encouraged our people to get involved with Tyson. I encouraged them to be subject matter experts, offer options and to learn about their business so that we can offer them the best service and the best products for whatever they need solved.”

Vollmer elaborated on the importance Hugg & Hall places on treating the company’s business relationship with Tyson as a mutually beneficial, collaborative effort.

“I conveyed to our people that if we truly treated them as a partner then our contracted time wouldn’t matter; we’d be doing business with them 25 and 30 years from now,” said Vollmer. “That’s the approach we’ve tried to take with our relationship with the company. So it’s great to be recognized with Supplier of the Year because it really validates our approach, how we work with Tyson and that we’re doing something right.”

Hugg & Hall has assisted Tyson Foods with business operational support and social responsibility efforts for several years. These support services include: providing equipment and volunteers for disaster relief efforts, repairing/remodeling generators, maintaining disaster relief equipment, providing equipment for events/conferences, implementing efforts to replace disused equipment with Tyson Foods’ preferred option, creating a Short Term Equipment Management team to remain onsite with the purpose of minimizing equipment downtime/maximizing productivity, providing emergency equipment to sustain necessary operational goals, expanding service areas to better serve Tyson Foods’ locational service needs and more. 

In the nomination letter, several Tyson team members detailed why Hugg & Hall was chosen for the recognition.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Hugg & Hall for over three years,” said one Tyson representative. “During this time, they have consistently gone above and beyond what we have asked of them. The Hugg & Hall representatives have provided solutions to problems we did not know existed as well as improved some of our existing processes.”

One Tyson team member emphasized the importance of value-added initiatives and a commitment to long-term collaboration and spoke on how these factors supported their decision to award Hugg & Hall with Supplier of the Year.

“Hugg & Hall recently expanded their service area to Louisiana in order to service our facilities in a more timely manner,” said the Tyson professional. “They are consistently improving their business and processes in order to more efficiently serve Tyson Foods, Inc. As the category manager of equipment rentals, I see Hugg & Hall prove daily they are committed to a long-term relationship with Tyson Foods, Inc. and are committed to value-added initiatives.”

Hugg & Hall appreciates the professional relationship they maintain with Tyson Foods, Inc. The company is grateful to have been awarded the honor of Supplier of the Year and looks forward to continued collaboration, going forward.
